CST - California Standards Test

This coming May, students will be tested on their "Mastery" of Third  Grade Required Skills.
Although teachers are restricted by law from giving out any sample test questions, Parents are permitted to have access to these test questions online.

These test questions can be printed out and shared with your child.

Although performance on these tests is not necessarily an indication of how well your child will do on the actual test, it certainly gives your child access to questions and the test format that they otherwise would not have. This in itself will benefit your child's performance.

Click on the California Department of Education  link below  to enter the government site posting questions from all subject areas that were on previous state tests. I suggeswt that pages be downloaded from this site intermittently during the year so students receive practice for their  tests in May.

You may be asked to update or install your "Adobe Reader". Just go ahead and say yes. It costs nothing and enables you to view the material presented.

Welcome Back To School
We have made it through the first week of school, the students are learning our class rules and procedures. Ask your child what the class room rules are!!!
They should be able to "Act Them Out! for you

Students are to select at least ONE Accelerated Reader book from the library every week. A test should be taken on this book every week or two depending upon its length.

A list of FAQ about this classroom's Accelerated Reader Program has been added to the "Class Files" for easy parent reference.
Students are expected to choose and read a book that is within their reading level range and take and pass the test in class in order to receive credit for the book.
The required reading for each student is determined by their personal ability and performance.

We are recycling inkjet and toner cartridges and old cell phones. Funds raised are applied to a classroom supply fund. Turn these items in to the school.
